UAW withdraws objections to NLRB over Volkswagen vote. The United Auto Workers (UAW) in April withdrew its objections filed with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) regarding the February vote at the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. UAW President Bob King said the decision was made in the best interests of Volkswagen employees, the automaker, and economic development in Chattanooga. Calling the NLRB's process "dysfunctional and complex," King said continuing the union's objections would take months or even years. He also cited refusals by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-Tennessee) to participate in a legal discovery process.
