New Louisiana workplace laws courtesy of 2016 regular legislative session

For the last two months, we've reported on the progress and demise of several workplace bills proposed in this year's regular session of the Louisiana Legislature. Several "high-minded" employment bills took center stage, but they couldn't gain the support needed to become law. Bills that proposed equal pay for women, a state minimum wage, and amendments to antidiscrimination laws to protect the LGBT community all stalled. In the end, only one employment bill passed, and it applies only to public employers. In this final installment, we look at which bills passed and which bills didn't but are likely to resurface for consideration in future legislative sessions.
